From the Desk of the President
Skin allergy constitute a large proportion of patients in our everyday practice and there was a need to start a society focused on these urticaria. atopic dermatitis ,contact dermatitis and other skin allergies in India which would collaborate with other such societies in India and abroad. The Skin Allergy Research Society (SARS), with its area of operation all over India was created by a group of enthusiastic and energetic dermatologists from all over India in 2013 with a great vision . And we are working to make it come true
Dr.Prabhakar M Sangolli,MD,DVD,DNB
Chairman, SAS Academy
From the Desk of the Chairman
Incidence and prevalence of skin allergies is increasing not only in India, but across the globe. It is due to environmental changes, work atmosphere, life style habits, smoking, stress, consumption of processed food, increased usage over the counter drugs, appearance of newer infections like COVID 19 etc.
Common allergic conditions include atopic dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, urticaria, angioedema and drug reactions
Skin Allergy Research Society of India was established to address the causes, evolve diagnostic techniques, and update the health care providers with current treatment guidelines and many more. It also promotes rigorous research to address unmet needs in the management of skin allergies
I urge all the Dermatologists to become a member of this august society and improve the knowledge, so that one can provide better patient care

Honorary Secretary, SAS Academy
From the Desk of the Honorary Secretary
It is a great moment of honor and pride to be apart of the family of the Skin Allergy Research Society (SAS).
Let me take this opportunity to express sincere gratitude to each one of you for the support, affection, and confidence showered on us. Your faith in us and constant encouragement have been a source of inspiration to embark on these new responsibilities.
A lot of welcome changes had been initiated in the SAS in the recent past, this recent website is just one of those. We have been conducting our annual Skin Allergy Meeting (SAM) with tremendous success for the past six years, and even in the COVID-torn 2020, we are proud to present the seventh SAM through the virtual platform.
We also are able to increase our academic activities; our publications are a testimonial to that. We have been successful to bring two highly appreciated Indian consensus guidelines in the past two years, one on urticaria and the other on the atopic dermatitis.
Our vision remained a constant endeavor for excellence and standardization in the management of allergic skin diseases, including urticaria, atopic dermatitis, and allergic contact dermatitis.
Since the last few years, the association has spread its wings. Thanks to our seniors, dedicated members, and seasoned faculty, and vibrant juniors we could continue in our quest for excellence. We are happy to form SAS Academy with a balanced mixture of youthful and experienced academicians.
I am looking forward to furthering the journey under the leadership of Dr. Kiran Godse whose vision is to enrich the organization with academic activity.
We seek your blessings, support, and co-operation in our journey towards fetching glory to our association.

Being a part of the "Skin Allergy Research Society (SAS)" that promotes and encourages members, students, and industry partners to rationalise treatment protocols and the “ The Indian Journal of Skin Allergy (IJSA)” that is a unique journal focused on skin allergy, providing latest research updates in this often neglected field, I am committed to the goals of SAS and IJSA, that is acquisition of knowledge and skills in this niche area, that would be greatly helpful in our clinical practice. I am honoured to be contributing to the further growth of interest in skin allergy.
We promise to provide excellent and educational articles on the topic that will benefit everyone and be broadly applicable. I also want to actively seek your support and contributions to IJSA.
Thank you all !
